Dental Crowns
Dental crowns in peterborough
Dental crowns (dental caps) completely cover a damaged tooth. In addition to giving teeth natural shape, crowns strengthen your teeth, preventing further damage. The crown is tailor made and coloured and placed over a natural tooth in order to help restore its appearance and function. Crowns are used for a variety of reasons. Most commonly they can be used to protect or cover a broken or severely decayed tooth so that you can use it as normal.
A crown is normally fitted in two visits to our practice. On the initial appointment we will prepare the damaged tooth and fit a temporary crown to protect the tooth. Our specialist laboratory will then construct the crown from your chosen material. On your second visit we will fit the crown and once you are happy with it’s appearance, we will cement it firmly in place.
