Dental Crowns

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns (dental caps) completely cover a damaged tooth. In addition to giving teeth natural shape, crowns strengthen your teeth, preventing further damage.

A crown is normally fitted in two visits to our practice. On the initial appointment we will prepare the damaged tooth and fit a temporary crown to protect the tooth. Our specialist laboratory will then construct the crown from your chosen material. On your second visit we will fit the crown and once you are happy with it's appearance, we will cement it firmly in place.

Choosing a crown:-

  • Ceramic: most natural but weaker than metal reinforced crowns
  • Porcelain Bonded Zirconium: natural in appearance, but requires more space
  • Porcelain Bonded Alloy: alloy metal substructure with applied porcelain layers
  • Zirconium: long lasting, chemically unreactive
  • Gold: strong, long lasting, highly resistant to wear and corrosion
  • Same Day Crowns: Porcelain crown, fitted same day as visit
Your dental crown should last 10-15 years.

Intraoral scanning technology allows for same-day dental crown procedures.

Porcelain Veneers

Dental veneers are fine layers of porcelain applied to to the front surface of your teeth. Veneers recreate the natural look of your teeth, while also providing strength and durability of natural tooth enamel.

We recommend 4 to 10 veneers on the front teeth and a whitening treatment on the remainder.
